Bill Baldwin's Science

I have studied science and mathematics. In fact, I have an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Chemistry. Over the years there have been some Scientific ideas I've had, most that I have not had the opportunity of money to verify. Sometimes, what is required is time to consider the implications of what is said.

I have to admit that as a scientist I am not too concerned about truth. I remember reading an article by a leading Physist about 1970, in which he pointed out that the true purpose of science is not to get at the truth (this is left to religion) but rather to find models and equations that work. Therefore, if someone thinks that the world is flat, a scientist should not question it. Rather a scientist should note that the equations are much simpler it the world is considered round.

I remember once (I think it was when I was a senoir in High School) when I thought it would be neat, and appropriate, to propose two scientific theories at the same time, such that both can be "proved," yet the two theories would actually contradict each other. It would be especially neat if it could be arranged so that both of these theories are set to be published on the same day. (Then, there would be the inevidable debate, in which I would be asked to debate myself publically, so that the "truth" of the two theories could be discovered!

This page is dedicated to far out ideas about what may be models to to predict the happenings in the real world. I make no claims beyond that.
